Application and selection of hot runner technology

   The modern mold is different from the traditional mold. It is not only complex in shape and structure, but also with higher technical requirements. It is obvious that the traditional mold manufacturing method is difficult to make. It is necessary to use modern science and technology and advanced manufacturing technology to meet the technical requirements. At present, the characteristics of the development of the whole industrial production are the variety of products, the rapid renewal and the fierce market competition. In order to adapt to the short delivery period of the market for the mold manufacturing, the high precision and low cost are urgently required. The mold cavity die will have the following development trends:

(1) The higher precision of the mold.

   10 years ago, the precision mold is generally 5 μm, now it has reached 2~3μm, and the die of 1μm will be listed soon. With the miniaturization of parts and the improvement of the precision requirements, the machining precision of some moulds is within 1 mu m, which requires the development of ultra precision machining.



(2) More and more large-scale molds.

  This is due to the growing size of moulded parts, and on the other hand, because of the high production efficiency, the 1 mode multi cavity (now some 1 modes hundreds of cavities).

(3) The increasing number of high-grade molds.

  Firstly, the nanometer precision machining for automobile, aircraft and precision machinery; secondly, the submicron (0.01 μm) precision machining for disk and drum manufacture; Thirdly, the precision machining of ultra precision electronic devices in nanometre (0.001 μm). Further increase of gas assisted mold and high pressure injection mold.With the continuous improvement and development of plastic molding technology, in order to improve the quality of injection, gas assisted mold and high pressure injection molding also develop.

 (4) The increasing proportion of plastic molds.

  With the continuous improvement of the properties of plastic raw materials, the parts of various industries will be replaced by steel, and the process of plastic generation will be further accelerated, and the proportion of plastic molds is increasing day by day.

(5) Increasing the backlog die and powder forging die.

  Due to the development of automotive, vehicle and motor products to light weight, such as aluminum generation, non full density molding, polymer material, complex material, engineering ceramics, super hard material molding and processing. The adoption of new materials not only changes the structure and performance of the product but also makes the process of production prove fundamental change, and the liquid (semi solid) extrusion die and powder forging die have appeared accordingly. The manufacturing precision of these molds is higher.

(6) The increasingly widely used mold standard parts.

  The standardization of mould and the application of mould standard parts will greatly affect the mold manufacturing cycle, and also improve the quality of mold and reduce the cost of mold manufacturing.

(7) Vigorously develop the rapid manufacturing mold.

  At present, it is the time of multi-variety and small batch production, on the one hand, the use cycle of the product is shortened, on the other hand, the variety of the product is updated quickly, which requires shorter and better mold production cycle. Therefore, the rapid prototyping mold will attract more and more attention.

(8) Expand the application of hot stream technology.

  Because the mold using the hot runner technology can improve the production efficiency and quality of the parts, and can greatly save the raw materials of the parts, the application of the hot runner technology has developed rapidly abroad. More than 50% of the molds produced by the plastic mold factory are used by the hot runner technology, even more than 80%, and the effect is very obvious. Hot runner has also been used in domestic production, and some enterprises use 20%~30%.
